The Straits Times Index (STI) ended 12.15 points or 0.44% higher to 2800.95, taking the year-to-date performance to -2.84%. For longer term observations please go to sgx.com/research.

The top active stocks today were DBS, which gained 1.34%, Genting Sing, which gained 5.29%, SingPost, which declined 6.97%, Global Logistic, which declined 0.97% and UOB, with a 0.27% advance.

The FTSE ST Mid Cap Index gained 0.59%, while the FTSE ST Small Cap Index rose 0.86%.

The outperforming sectors today were represented by the FTSE ST Basic Materials Index, which rose 2.66%. The two biggest stocks of the Index - Midas Holdings and Halcyon Agri Corporation- both ended unchanged.

The underperforming sector was the FTSE ST Industrials Index, which slipped 0.76%. Jardine Matheson Holdings shares declined 3.00% and Jardine Strategic Holdings declined 1.55%.
