As comparison of the yesterday closing, today's closing was good, yesterday closed at that point form where the market opened but today SGX market closed with +5.53▲ increment.

The Straits Times Index (STI) ended 5.53 points or 0.2% higher to 2822.2, taking the year-to-date performance to -2.10%. For longer term observations please go to sgx.com/research.

The top active stocks today were Singtel, which declined 1.37%, DBS, which gained 0.18%, OCBC Bank, which declined 0.68%, Global Logistic, which gained 1.49% and UOB, with a 0.77% advance.

The FTSE ST Mid Cap Index gained 0.20%, while the FTSE ST Small Cap Index rose 0.44%.

The outperforming sectors today were represented by the FTSE ST Oil & Gas Index, which rose 1.77%. The two biggest stocks of the Index - Keppel Corp and Sembcorp Industries- ended 1.12% higher and 1.13% higher respectively.

The underperforming sector was the FTSE ST Telecommunications Index, which slipped 1.30%. Singtel shares declined 1.37% and StarHub declined 0.72%.
